The dream

Ever since childhood, I dreamed of a smallholding in the countryside: a place to keep animals and live close to nature. In 2016, that dream began to take shape when we moved our family to a farming cottage in Wales. Alongside our four children, we started keeping chickens, ducks and other furry friends. Then we decided our family was missing one thing: a dog.

The sad reality

We began our search full of excitement, but what we found shocked us. Puppies kept in barns with no human interaction. Dogs eating their own excrement. Pups trembling at the sound of a hoover. With a young family at home, this was far from what we wanted. We needed a puppy who would be confident and safe around our children, so we asked the questions: Why is it so hard to find a puppy used to family life? One who knows the sound of a hoover or a ringing phone? One who isn’t afraid to be stroked or cuddled?

We had stumbled into the puppy underworld.

Finding our forever dogs

After a long search, we found our two precious Cavachons, Honey and Rosie. It was then that we made a promise to ourselves: one day, we would give other families the chance to bring home a puppy who had been well raised, well socialised and loved from the very start.

The beginning of Maximilian Pups

That’s exactly what we do today. We breed a select number of puppies from healthy, much-loved parents, all raised in a family home environment.

We now live on a larger smallholding just outside Oswestry, where we’ve raised goats, ducks, chickens, rabbits, cats and, of course, many wonderful dogs. The dream, complete. We work tirelessly to bring you the very best in health, temperament and quality.

We’re so proud of every little pup we’ve raised, and of the loving forever families we’ve helped them find.
